The stock WOT shift points should be around 4,800rpm or:
1-2=44mph
2-3=83mph
3-4=134mph

Part throttle shift points will of course be lower.

Your shifts are occuring too late at part throttle openings. I would adjust the TV cable to correct this. Try using "white out", and put a streak on the black teeth of the cable adjustor, let dry, then take a sharp knife and remove the "white out" from one groove about a 1/4" away from the back part of the adjustment holder, now when you make a change, you can see where you started from and in what direction to go. Make small changes in the adjustment and see what happens.

First of all your tranny is awesome!

But can you maybe explain to us all here what is happening when you adjust the tranny TV cable. There are always a butt load of questions surrounding it and although I know how to adjust mine, I don't understand exactly what the mechanics of is are.

Also. My tranny shifts flawlessly at part throttle. Quick and hard. But under WOT, left in D my times are horrible? Why? It seems to want to shift right into 3rd behind this motor.

first, i had tranny rebuilt by custom shop, you should know this:
1: stall convertor to 2400
2: clutch packs replaced with cermic coated friction
3: new pump
4: shift kit, nice firm shifts up or down
5: planterary gears replaced
6: kelvar band

the problem ?: the shift from 1 -2 are normal, 2 - 3 shift point is at 80km/hr(50 mph), 4 at 90km/hr(55mph). under normal acceleration. the transmission mechanic noticed this and told me about it. it doesn't seem to affect proformance and even may add to it. as i said early if i back off thottle just a bit it shifts 2-3 at will. just wondering if i should leave it along or have them open up the tranny again?

i will have him check tv cable

tranny up date:

adjusted tv linkage to its longest length(shift now at 60km/hr..mechanic replaced with new updated shifting servo on rebuild. he, suggested that the servo might infer with the shift kit sequence.. and would replace it if neccesary.. warranty at it best! can't go wrong ..so far... :hurray:

Looks like L98 shift points, my LT1 shifts about 5200 RPM and with the few mods I've done needs to go to 5800 RPM.
