Default LT1 Exhaust System

I'm looking for a little better sound, and I think the stock system is already pretty good. Some folks having recommended just changing the mufflers. What are your thoughts on this approach? And what mufflers?

Thanks, John

No better sound than Power Effects. A little pricey, but worth it.

Magnaflow.

You can get the set they have for C4s that are stainless, dual outlet with nice round tips, or you can just buy two universal fit, offset in center out mufflers and put your stock tips on. You can get the universal fit in stainless or aluminized finish.

I know a couple of places in Huntsville that can order them for you.

Actually, I think the LT-1 exhaust sounds pretty good above 2,300 rpm, it's down low where it's lacking. I wouldn't mind a more agressive sounding set of mufflers myself, though.

I like the way they sound too... At least from listening to the website. Do you have the resonators on your exhast as well or just the tunable muffler?

Thanks for that dude!!!

I actually have magnaflow as one of my options, cuz Im looking to replace stock exhaust. I think that home page sold me on Magmaflow. It will sell me for sure if they give me the free exhuast system that they are offiering. Now, how much do they cost?

if you want to keep the stock sytem, just ditch the mufflers alltogether (muffler elims), they sound awesome, but you lose a little bit of low-end torque because of the loss of backpressure and the resulting shift of the power-curve, but, like i sadi, the sound is unbeatable. :D

If you're thinking MagnaFlows, here's a link I've been saving. They have the best price I've seen so far.

Best price I can find on the C4 Magnaflows for a 95 LT1 is about $377 from:
http://www.performanceintl.com

I'd like to hear them first though - the reviews in this forum are pretty mixed between love and hate.
