Default jacking question

I did a search and couldnt find an answer to this specific question....can you jack the back end of a C4 with a floor jack under the differential? I hate jacking it one corner at a time to put jack stands at the factory jacking points. It just looks like that much flex is gonna break something.

Yes, but you need to buy or build an adapter for your floor jack. It's tall and narrow to fit between the exhaust. Can't remember who makes it but a search will quickly find all the posts about it. And i'm sure it won't be long before someone with a memory chimes in.

I now jack up the rear using the above item, and place stands under. Then slide my jack under the front cross-member in the middle and jack the front up.

I understand you can also jack up the rear by placing about a 16 inch piece of 4 X 4 right between the hinges of the spare tire carrier. This assume the spare is in there and has air. The 4 X 4 push against the spare which is right up against a frame cross member. Supposedly won't damage anything.
