Default walbro fuel pump question

When I put the Walbro in, I joined the new fuel pump with the factory rubber piece that goes between the pump and the feed line.

Do most of you, or should I eliminate this rubber piece and put a tube in place of this stock fuel pump rubber part?

That factory rubber piece is the pulsation dampener.

Most, including myself, eliminate the pulsation dampener and use the hose and clamps supplied in the kit.
It is widely believed that the pulsation dampener will leak.

Tom, thats what Ol'RJ told me but I got the unit used but not used before and there were no other parts to go with the pump.

So I thought this week I would pull the fuel pump and replace this part,, any thoughts on what I could use in place of the rubber piece, just maybe fuel line hose and SS clamps?

That's all that it was in the kit.
Make sure it is high-pressure fuel line hose and some stainless steel clamps.

Ahhhhhh

I just reused the rubber thingy with the vibration dampener. I figured if I would eliminate it I might get a hammering sound when pressure was decreased or increased. FP is fine with it now. Guess either way will work.

A few months after I installed my Walbro, with the pulsator, the fuel line pressure would bleed away after a few hours after I shut the engine down.
I have a permenent guage on the fuel rail.
New injectors and no smell of gas in the manifold.
Eventually pulled the pump back out and replaced the pulsator with a short rubber fuel line and the problem was gone.
No noticable noise difference with it out.

I will have to watch my bleedoff rate. When I was putting it back together I even thought to myself. Hmmmm, what are the chances that will need taken apart again in about a weeks time for something? Didn't even take 24hrs :(

My pressure even with the stock pump held over night most of the time. So I suspect the seal was good. Lets hope it stays as good with this one.

I do know for a fact that mine will bleed down in @ 1-2 hours.

Looks like this will get done tonight!
