Can anyone provide and electronic copy of the installation guide for a 93 or 94-96. I'm getting into this arena soon and I'm overriding my likes for vortech because I don't want engine oil mixed into a non standard component. They don't have installation guides on the net and would like to see their installation procedure.......
I dont have instructions for you, just a comment on you oil issue. I have a procharger on my vette (85) and I have the non-sc unit. I dont have any data and I havent done any testing, but My thoughts are that at 60,000 rpm that small quantity of oil must get pretty hot, and I believe that a (somewhat) fresh supply of engine oil could only help. I also change my oil religiously though. Im sure they have the sc units engineered to operate well but thats just my opinion. :)
from what i have read the SC (self contained) is a better unit then non-sc...because the fact the oil does not get that hot compaired to oil getting hot from the motor then going into a hot blower...and if you have issues with your motor producing alot of heat that oil is just that much hotter!
I've heard very similiar statements..........I want the two systems isolated......plus I don't relish punching any holes into the oil pan....But I'd like to see the overall installation procedure on the LT1 from stem to stern.....noone can seem to help......:(
Oh come on....that's not true. I've been following your thread and I just got done with my install. I will get you the manual as soon as I'm able. Other than that, what do you need to know? I can tell you from first hand experience it's not hard at all to install the kit. It just takes time....maybe a little more time than the manual says (20 hours) but believe me....if I can save someone time, I will.
Let me put it this way. If I had to do it all over again. I could do it in 30 to 50% less time.
BTW: The biggest tip I can give you is replace your Opti with a vented unit (if you don't already have a 95-96, I can't remember) and your waterpump.
