While browsing the forum, I noticed a thread on timing.
It said that "by the book" to set timing at 6 degrees BTDC with EST disconnected.
That way, it should be around 21 degrees advance with EST connected at idle.
Is it possible that a car can be 6 degrees with the EST connected at idle, if a mistake was made? If it is possible, what could you expect from it (symptoms)?
Mine did this last week for no apparent reason. I ended up pulling the 12v supply connector to the ECM near the battery's positive terminal. I let it sit for 1 minute, put it back in and my 21* at idle was back.
