My AC/heating fan went nuts a couple of weeks ago - I can't turn it off! It doesn't stop even if I take the key out.
Now I have been told that it might be the Blower Power Module. The module sits where the blower motor is located, behind the passanger side front wheel on the firewall. There are two wires with plugs attached to this module. Do you know what I mean? If I could I would take some photos, but I don't have a digital camera (stone age!).
Problem is that I can't find this Blower Power Module anywhere, and I don't have a partnumber. Can someone help me to where to find one?
I don't know about a "Blower Power Module" but it sounds to me like the blower motor relay is fried in the closed position. It should be mounted very near the blower motor under the hood.
Perhaps it might be worth to check the relay. How do I find it, what does it look like?
The problem is that I live in Sweden so I can't just walk in to the nearest part shop and buy a relay, I'll have to order it from USA and I want to be sure I order the right thing.
Hello fellow BSS member. Always try to help out other Black Sheep.
You won't have a Blower Relay with the C68 option. Check this pic
I think the two wire plug you're talking about is the underhood fuse. The Blower Module should have a plug with four wires on the inboard side of the evaporator.
Try GM Part Number 16086891 lists for $145. If you have no access to a GM dealer I may be able to help.

Appreciate that
It doesn't look exactly like on the picture you posted.
The thing I am talking about is fastened with three screws (or nuts, I don't remember) and its got two plugs with four wires each connected to it. I have know disconnected one of the plugs to shut off the fan.
Thanks for the part number. I am now at work but I will check this "thing" when I get back home to see if it is the same thing that you think it is.
If it is, can you help me with getting one? The mechanic that was going to help me with this, the same guy that had the theory about what could be wrong, told me that this item is on back orders.

If you have the Electrical diagnosis service manual 8A on page 66-7 is chart #3. You will see that when the power is off (ignition) and it's still running it directs you to test the blower power module, if you don't have a short to B+in ckt. 63 replace the module. Shop around Delco wants $350.00 I've found it as cheap as $65 bucks. Good luck

I'd say that it was "figured out" probably 11 years ago!
Sorry I didn't see the posted date. What's it still on here for ?
I'd guess you were searching for "something" and it happened along.
Why is it here? Well the "search" function does quite well here and if you spend some time with the "search" function you'll find there's quite a bit of information that's been accumulated through the years available. It's a quite nice feature. It's not always been that effective and it's good that it is.
