low coolant...really?
The light was finally on when I was parked in the garage. I pulled the sensor wire off and grounded it and the light went off. I checked to make sure the radiator is grounded, and it is. I then checked the continuity through the sensor to ground, Nothing. I then checked to make sure I didn't have an air lock in the radiator, I didn't. I then checked to see if I am getting electrical continuity through the coolant. Surprise, surprise, this is where the problem is. The sensor is not grounding through the coolant properly for some reason. I keep getting strange readings. When I touch the probes it shows a bit of continuity then it drops to nothing. Maybe not enough water in the coolant. I will have to talk to the guys who installed the radiator and see what they can come up with.
mitch :steering:
I drilled a 1/16 to 1/8 hole on the flat of my thermostat to work as a permanent bleeder for air to escape. It seemed to help. However this mod, isn't going to do you any good if your sensor is shot.
