Will I pass emissions?
I was told that to make my car louder for free, all I have to do is cut the 'dummy' pipe out of the stock mufflers, or just make the hole bigger, sounds simple, but will I pass emissions? My cousin told me I won't, but I'm still not sure on it, thank you in advance.

On your L98 anything you do after the cat will have no effect on emissions.
That hole was made large on some models of Vette, so go ahead and enlarge it.

I would think twice about that MOD!!!! :rolleyes: It wont get you any more power (very little or NONE) but it will make a helva lot of bad noise. I did it on my 85 and the resonance in the cabin was sooooooooooooooooooo bad the wife would not even drive it. (some would consider that a good MOD! :lol: ) It even made me cringe to go through the 1500-2000 rpm range. I ended up changing the entire exhaust system to a dynomax and even that one has some bad resonance problems. I learned to live with it but it was still annoying!
Your best bet for muffler selection is to find another C4 vette with a system that you can hear in real world. If you like it, buy it!!!
If your car passed emissions with the muffler in tact it will pass with the MOD.
Be very careful what/ how much noise you ask for.
