I have an 89 Vette 6 spd. that is a beauty other than one irritating problem. Until I get to full operating temperature it will stall. This happens if I let the car idle -at a certain point in warm up it's as if someone turned the ignition off. If I'm driving during the warm-up and come to a stop sign or light it can stall. When the engine is cold it literally starts without even hearing the engine crank - touch the key and it's a hummin. Someone suggested that I change the control module in the distributer which I did - needless to say that was $72. down the toilet. At full operating temperature I can stop and start it all day without a problem - although when the engine is hot it does crank before starting. On the 4th of July I drove the car 6 - 7 miles shut off the engine - attempted to start an hour later - at first touch of the key the engine catches (you hear a weak firing) and then just empty cranking. Two hours later - same thing. I let the car sit until evening and yep you guessed it - touch the key and vroooom away it goes. It's driving me nuts - and it's ever so embarresing to have a beauty like this stall in public and have people help you push it out of the way. That's just not good for the Corvette image. Can anyone out there in Corvette land please give me some suggestions? Has anyone had similar problems? HELP!!!!! : :chevy

 

Have you checked the fuel pump....and or the fuel pressure???????
Just a simple thought.....
When was the last time you changed the fuel filter??????
