Default Mother board or switch?

I have an 86 corvette and recently used the rear defrost and for some reason let the magic smoke out of the HVAC climate control mother board or what ever you call it. I took it apart and found the resistor that was blown. I souldered in another resistor and put everything back together. I tested the controls but nothing worked. I tracked it down to either the mother board that I recently worked on or the Delayed Blower Control switch that is under the hood. The bad part is they are both a lot of money, ($300 for the board and $540 for the switch) Is there anyway to test either one to determine the true source of the problem? I figured if it was the mother board it would have blown the resistor again. I am leaning toward the switch. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for the help......

I would look on ebay, or the c4 parts for sale section. They seem to go for between 50-100.

Is there any way to test either of them to help determine what part I need?

Thanks in advance!

It seems to me there was a post not long ago about these resistors. They are appearently not the highest quality. If it's the same on your board as the other post, there are 2 resistors right beside each other. The recommendation was to replace them both.
