Default Replacement 2 bar sensor for #16009886?

Has anyone purchased the replacement 2 bar sensor for #16009886?

What is the new part number, and were you satisfied that it is the correct replacement? Did it require a new connector?

Gene the wiring harness is made to keep people from installing the wrong map sensor so to put a 2 bar on it is necessary to cut a slot so it will fit.
Is that why you think you have the wrong part.

No, I have been given two different part numbers for the replacement:

16254539 and 12569241

Confused why two different part numbers for the replacement?

Thought I would inquire if anyone has used these, and what their experience has been.

With my track record, I would buy one needing a new connector, and having installed it, find out that it's not the right one!

Any feed back appreciated. Thanks for responding Black Bart. Saw that you went with DFI 7. Going with Holley on this street car.

I called GM not to far back and was interested in the price of a 2 bar MAP. I took the part number off of a post I searched for in the archive and gave it to the parts guy. He said the part number had been changed to 16254539.

Order this and i'm sure you'll be fine.

The stock ECM can't use the 2 bar map data for anything, so if that's the case, don't you have to upgrade to an aftermarket EFI system to get it work anyway? And if so, do you have to specify a specific wiring harness for the MAP sensor you're using anyway?

Matt if you look at his post about three above he states that he is going with a Holly. The harness is for a NA engine if you have FI then you need to cut a slot in it so a 2 or 3 bar will work. :steering:

Oh yeah, I thought that was odd.....I don't know how I missed that. Hey Bart! Got nothing to do on a Friday night either, eh? We should've gone to Duke's drive in or something. 75th and Harlem I believe....ever been there? Lot's of classic and 80's Hot rods there.

Hey Gene, that has to be the most beautiful chassis/susp. I've ever seen. It's almost too good to take on the road!

I"M taken mine for a drive tomorrow if I can get it out of the garage. Been reading about how I have no low end torque with my intake so I may have trouble getting it to go. :leaving:

I'm afraid I have to agree. Those tires are over kill too. For your application I don't think you need anything bigger than a 205. :smash:

Thanks for the response, fellows. Will just go ahead and order the 16254539.

vvv90, thanks for the compliment, go here for some more chassis photos. Give it a few minutes to load.

Have got to take some more recent photos. Just recently plumbed a pump/cooler/filter set-up for the supercharger. Transmission cooler is now plumbed also.
