Have pretty much eliminated my auto climate control problem down to the motor which controls the heater core door. Problem is, my unit is controlled by an electrical motor, not vacuum. Every dealership I have talked to cannot find this typical programmer. Has anyone had this problem?: I have an 89 contertible with auto climate control.
Also, I can open up the heater core box in the engine compartment via the temp sensor and manually open and close the door, it will swing easily to allow heat, but, I cannot reverse the swing to bring back A/c.
Thanx for your help guys!!! :(
Re: A/c Heater control programmer prob (johndoe89)
No, the linkage is in good shape , I can physically actuate the arm by sticking a long object and slightly prying on it forcing the linkage to open and close. The only vacuum bladder i have is in the quarter panel area contolling the heat/ defrost gate. This typical programmer which controls the A/C - heat is electonically controlled, any ideas?. I did chk the control from the vacuum heat/defrost all works fine just continues to blow same temp air from vents to windshield.
