I was wondering about where you mounted it, was wiring it up a hassle? etc. I would just change the speedo gears and sensor again, it possible, but I have been told that they dont make one for the 4.09 gear and a 700r4 transmission. 3.73 is as high as they go. Thanks for your input
Rich, thanks for your input, however I didnt pick the name of the company. :D . The anti lock brakes on a vette are controlled off of the 4 individual wheel sensors and not the speedometer reading. So therefore I dont believe it is a issue. I know zip and some others sell a similar product. I really would rather have the gears but im being told they dont make them for a 4.09 ratio.
You're putting 4.09's in an automatic, that should be interesting on the highway.
Actually I have had it in for about a month or so. So far I like it. Sure does make for quick take offs. :D I dont do that much highway driving with it anyhow. I have had it at the track twice. Once at a 1/4 mile track, and needed drag radials. But according to the factory tach, I was going through the traps at about 5900 rpms in drive. This week I took it to a local 1/8 mile track, and I didnt know traction could be so bad without snow out there. :jester I do have a set of nittos mounted on rims that I am going to try, but I need to get a line lock on there first. By the way, there are several automatic 4.09's out there. Mackey has one, and there are some others on here as well.
