Alternator/Air pump bracket
I read up noticing that the 1986 - 1991 corvettes use a bracket that holds the alternator and air pump together in place with some simple bolts. I recently purchased a bracket from a fellow forum member who had a 1986 corvette. When I recieved it in the mail I noticed that the bracket was actually bigger in size compared to the 1987 corvette bracket :confused: WTF!!???

Just a guess,but was that bracket off an E86 or "Early 86 with cast Iron heads"? If so,that may be the 85-E86 bracket.The Late 86 may be the same as the 87 size you need.GM made some changes in Late 86 which carried over into 1987 and could be you got a bracket not suitable for your 87.
My Late 86 is identical to the 87's for the most part with very minor changes.
Be sure to check this out before you buy extra parts.

I think Bill is right, there were several small changes like that throughout the entire C4 line, I know the bracket on mine is a rather stout looking piece.
