Default Clutch worn out???

Well I dont know if its the clutch or the tranny.

The gear selector can go into gears fine. When In gear, If I let clutch out, it just doesn't do anything. Its just like its there doing nothing. It has pressure, its not dropped to the floor or anything.

Whats up?

that sounds like the clutch... if it was the tranny, it would be a real mess. all sorts of ugly noises.

I would not bet against the clutch fork being brnt or broken.

What year is your vette?

Its a 92, so its a ZF. So I don't think its the tranny, those things are rock solid.

absolutely, so is mine!

I would check into the clutch... it sounds like something has really take a crap in the clutch area... could even be the flywheel... yes... the flywheel.

They are what is called "dual mass". hence, there are 2 separate masses of metal, interconnected with a rubber bond. the rubber acts like the springs in a friction disc.

The rubber can break down, especially when exposed to engine oil. that could also be the problem... I hope not. dual mass flywheels are not servicable - you cannot repair them, nor can you resurface them....

good luck, and keep us posted.
