At your location you should be fine with 6 psi and yes it is possible to run a blower with a stock LT-1 but i would say 6psi you would be fine just get a really good intercooler to keep the intake temp down :D
thanks for the help. But ive heard the egine will only last for 10,000 miles or so with stock internals. what kind of life span can i expect if I run 6 psi

1.) You can run 8psi of intercooled boost safely.
2.) It would benefit you to hang around and learn how boosted cars work and what makes them break, i.e. detonation.
3.) Depending on how well you tune and monitor your engine, your engine will last as long as it would otherwise stock. Daily driven the supercharger doesn't kick in until around 3,000RPM. So basically it's stock up until 3500RPM.
Also depends on the mileage on the motor prior to fitting.
Mine had 50,000 prior to fitting and it lasted about 10,000 before it started to eat the pistons. The extra power trashed the clutch in 600 miles, so went for a Centreforce.
The magic word is tuned. I have seen stock LT1 with 7psi intercooled, headers tuned on dynoed resulted 405rwhp last about 16000 miles and 60+ passes at the track. Also, how long it last depends how your car tuned and how you drive. Another note, if your walet are not full then don't get into supercharging LT1 car. Cause it eventually will cost you big $ for all sort of things.
