Default Dyno results inside

Last year I had the car dynoed with the mods you see in my sig. The numbers at that time were 234 hp and 318 ft/lbs torque. Since that time I have changed to a 3.07 rear, added a 2500 stall converter and had my trans rebuilt w/ a shift kit (I realize none of these changes will change the dyno readings). Now onto the items that had an impact on the dyno readings. I installed an Accel intake, ported plenum, ASM runners, SVO 24 lb. injectors, a Holley AFPR, Pro Magnum 1.6 RRs and new valve springs. I had the car dynoed this morning and got a best of 272 hp, 386 ft/lbs. of torque.

We messed with the timing and fuel pressure a bit in between runs. I was able to gain 6 hp and 34 ft/lbs. of torque by dialing the fuel pressure from 40 lbs to 38 lbs and by bumping up the timing from 6 deg. to 10 deg. I am pretty impressed with the results. I had been hoping for about 275/350 so the hp is right on with prediction, but the torque is far more than I had hoped for

I'm hoping to get some input from the forum on the A/F ratio numbers. Do they look to be where they should? The guy operating the dyno told me that having a custom chip burned could probably increase my A/F ratio by optimizing the 24 lb. injectors and thus increase hp/tq also, but I'm not well versed on A/F ratio numbers. Any imput would be appreciated.

Tom

I wonder what that bump there in the middle was caused by.

I'm not sure how accurate the A/F readings are but 11.x:1 seems a little rich. Did you try lower fuel pressure?

With that intake I'm not surprised at the torque increase.

BTW, what are the RPM values on that plot and what is the WOT 1-2 shift point?

It does look like you're running a little rich for most of the pull, can't tell what the rpm range is from the graph. I think you'd want to be somewhere around 12.8-13.2 and not in the 11s as you are now.

Nicce #'s.

I can't see the rpms.

It looks rich, but if the ET and HP are there, then don't worry about it.

Your very rich because of the 24 pound injectors. Stock injectors are smaller so without reprogramming the ecm or decreasing the fuel pressure, you are putting out more fuel with the 24 lbs'er. Have a chip burned with the correct injector constant and it should run even better. :yesnod:

As a few people have alluded, lowering the fuel pressure improved your AFR, but you're still choking on fuel at 11.2-11.6. You'll find more power and better driveability if you can get the AFR up to around 12.8-13.0 at WOT. Have the ECM reprogrammed, including the injector constant (as was mentioned), and you should be able to get the correct AFR with the GM-correct 43 psi of fuel pressure.

I rescanned the chart to show the RPM.

Thanks for the responses. Its sounds like the consensus agrees that I'm running a bit rich at WOT. I'm gonna look into having a chip burned......hopefully that'll correct the problem and as an added bonus I can get them to turn off that damn code 32 :D
