I have a brake problem, where my brakes feel good unless I slam on the brakes. The antilocks do not engage and the pedal feels very hard. I have replaced the booster (new GM) , due to hard pedal all the time. I have heard that air in the system will cause this problem so I am trying to bleed the brakes. When I pump the brakes and blled the primer valve on the ABS unit, I get ablsolutely nothing, no fluid or downward movement in the pedal. Anyone had success with this? Am I doing something wrong? Many thanks RD
You shouldn't need to deal with the ABS system at all. Bleeding is the same as all cars. Right rear 1st (farthest away from master cylinder) left rear next, then right front etc.
Air in the lines normal makes 4 spongy brake pedal because air compress' and fluid doesn't.
I hope your problem isn't the ABS unit, that's a very pricy part.
no codes and I got to ths point through the manual. The vette goes through it's normal cycle after I start moving. You would never know this thing had a break problem until you slam on the brakes. Thanks RD
I don't know if I followed a "proper procedure" or not when I blead mine, but I did all 4 calipers first, then I blead the ABS/ASR block. Fuild came out no problem. If you can't get any fuild out of that ABS bleeder valve it sounds like the line that goes to it might be plugged up.

The 94's are different.
My 95 is self bleeding, not so with the 94.

In the unlikely event you have air in the ABS pump, there is a procedure for removing it. It requires a Tech One analyzer to cycle the ABS circuits. A dealer or service shop with the analyzer would be the easiest fix.
My 92 brakes bled w\ no problems...Started at the furthest from the master cylinder (pass.rear)and worked my way around. FIY the disply lights up like christmas tree when you start the carABS,ASR( I thought oh nooooo)...They go out afteryou roll foward and hit the brakes though
