How do I convert to an external coil distributor?
Whay you ask?,,,, my new engine needs to have decent spark to 6000RPM and my exsisting stuff needs to be replaced for the new 406 engine.
Is my HEI satisfactory for 6000 RPM, I will then just buy a new HEI module & coil like a HEI rebuild kit. But eventually, next spring, I will go with an MSD 6AL, but need to replace my stock internals or buy a new distributor.
How do I swap over to an external coil PROS & CONS , just buy the distributor new or go to the junk yard and for what model year do I get one, Camaro etc?
What are the wirring issues?

Check into a HyperTech coil/cap/rotor as it will produce good spark much higher than the stock HEI and is a direct bolt-on.
Ask the Tech guys at Summit or HyperTech if it will do the job up there.
