Cluster Bulb Problem?

Cluster Bulb Problem?
So I remove the cluster bezel, pry the metal plug off, remove the burnt bulb. So far, so good. I proceed to the next step which is inserting the new bulb. I'm using needle nose pliers with a little two sided tape on each prong to hold the bulb. As I push the new bulb in, the bulb socket falls back into the dash cluster :mad How do you get behind the cluster? Please don't tell me I have to remove the cluster and take it apart. I can still see the socket so I'm going to try and pull it forward and twist it into position. Thanks for any help.

Because there isn't any part of the socket to grab, you cannot turn it while also pulling it in order to snap it back in place. You will have to remove the cluster which is a little tight, but I promise you won't die. With the cluster out, you can take it apart and easily re-insert the loosened socket, or replace it if the replacement lamp had a socket provided. Now just take a deep breath and repeat, "I am going to take out the cluster and get my illumination back and add another skill to my repertoire". :cheers:
