Re: Which Blower Type Is Better......? (Soulja_350)
Inside or Outside??? Are you asking about opinions on stuff sticking through your hood, or are you intested in the differences between Centrifugal, Roots, or screw type blowers?
"Better" is a vague term. It all depends on your application.

Re: Which Blower Type Is Better......? (Soulja_350)
In VEEERY general terms.
1.) Roots or screw type blower
Pros=Produces peak boost at very low RPM's to broaden the torque curve as much as possible.
Cons=Very poor on gas, sticks out of the hood (in most cases), and limited intercooling capability.
2.) Centrifugal
Pros=under the hood, ample intercooling options, very streetable(good on gas)
Cons=Boost increases linearly with RPM(lacks low RPM Torque)

Re: Which Blower Type Is Better......? (Soulja_350)
www.jegs.com IS a place you can get a Screw type SC,( Roots) but do you plan on doing this to your C4? I'm pretty sure it wont fit unless you take off whatever FUel Injection system you have, either TPI or LT1 unit. But hey, if you want a carburated SC engine then I guess you will have to ditch them.

Re: Which Blower Type Is Better......? (Soulja_350)
i think i will add the root sc on cuz 4 some reason i like the idea of seeing the blowing, i dont think many people will wanna car u when your car look that baddass :reddevil :reddevil :reddevil , but then again it will eat the fuel like there is no 2morrow :cry
sumthing like this would be nice
wat do u think the the fuel will be like on something like that ? wat about street legal?
Re: Which Blower Type Is Better......? (Soulja_350)
, i dont think many people will wanna car u when your car look that baddass
Of course they will! Hell, just the other night some kid raced me in his stock Hyundai Tiburon (the older one) After I handed him his butt, as if it wasn't going to happen, he pulled up next to me and called me a *****! People on the street are just plain 'ol idiots and you can never predict how irrational they will be.
If you do happen to get beat by someone, you'll be embarassed because you made such a spectacle of your blower too. ;)
Just something to point out. But I personally do think Roots blowers look and sound awesome. I wouldn't mind having one for the right application. I just Loooooove sleepers though. And a sleeper Vette is something no one expects because most people don't go too extreme with mods.

sleeper sc is sumthing like a d1 right???
I think i know why i want a root blower. When i was a kid my dad used to take me (and still does) to the drags and i feel inlove with those badass v8, in australia you dont see many american car but the few we have here are soo nice T/A Firebird 7second 1/4mile
What type of mileage will u get with a root and the other type?
If i were you. I would invest a few $ on a book about supercharging because that will help you make good decision.
:iagree: Read up on it man, I doubt the Roots Type Blower can push more then 8PSI before your going to need to slap on a water/air intercooler which will add more height to the Blower, and will stick it out even higher out the hood line. As for the link http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...61&cgrfnbr=670 Just choose which one you would like.
But anyway, WHat year Corvette do you have? DO you realize that when your going to use a Roots, your going to have to loose your EFI system? Your pretty much going to have to go primative on your C4 to make it work with a Roots.
Plus, If your creative, you could keep your EFI system, add a Centrifgual SC, and then put in a custom cowl hood that opens and closes depending on how hard you stomp the pedal. I saw this on Trucks, Looked so freakin cool. :yesnod:
Scorps right that LT5 isn't supercharged or turbocharged or anything. I have never seen a supercharger that looks anything like the LT5 plenum/runners.
I don't think it would be RELATIVELY difficult to get a centrifual s/c hooked up to an LT5  I'd really like to see that actually. Just need to make space and provide custom tubing like anything else.
Re: Which Blower Type Is Better......? (mike 1985)
I highly doubt it man. If you do want to cut a huge hole in your hood, check in with the repair cost if you f***up or If you decide to change to a regular hood. PLus forget about daily driver, and forget about taken it in the rain or even if it all of a suddenly starts to rain. http://www.cars-on-line.com/96corv6446.html
  Im really confused here. A couple of weeks ago you were bad mouthing turbos and stating that superchargers are the way to go.....Now youre acting as if you know nothing about them??
You wrote this...
Ahahahaha why do u wanna run a turbo
Big Turbo = LAG = slow 0-60 but ffast topend
Max Boost no where near wat a sc can put out
