Knocking and pinging
Just like the banner says, she is knocking and pinging like a ****. After the car is warmed up (operating temp range is between 180-210) even if I get on it just a little she will start knocking and Pinging. She does not get hot or overheat, I use 91 octane in her, and I checked the fuel pressure with a gauge and it appears to be within the correct range. I checked to make sure the ESC was working correctly by taping on the engine block and with a wrench and watching the time mark retard with my timinig light. I replaced the fuel filter just to be on the safe sided and retarded the timing from 6 degrees BTDC (which is what the sticker in my engine compartment calls for) to about 2 degrees BTDC, both of these changes had no effect. I plan on changing out the fuel presure regulator next. I hate to be a parts swapper but you guys got any suggestions at this point cause I am fresh out? :nonod:

Check out the catalytic converters, all three of them. My 86 was pinging like a ..... did all the same things you describe, but it didn't help. My main cat had the bricks just bouncing around and suspect the precats are probably plugged to. The EGR was plugged up solid.
