As posted before, new Ford 21# injectors and still running like cr-p. Someone (I cannot remember who) said to set the AFPR to 38#. So the questions is:
At what point do I set 38#. When I first turn on the key? After ignition on but before engine starts? or when the engine is running.
Bought a new IAC, but was given the wrong one. The original is a dual dome and the new one is blunt. Cleaned the old one and replaced it.
Hopefully, the new AFPR is the fix. If not, I guess it's new cat tomorrow. Am thinking of no pre-cats, but wifey is saying it's to loud now with the Flowmasters. Does eliminating the pre-cats increase the "sound" a little or a lot.
Thanks for the help
Well to set the AFPR while the car is idling, disconnect the vacuum hose going into the regulator and set the desired pressure (38# or whatever). Then plug the vacuum hose back in. THat's it. With the 21# fords, I would think that you'll be pretty close to the recommended fuel pressure anyway- since the ECM will level out the injector pulsewidth under normal circumstances. And you should be close enough for WOT as well...
Now your idle pressure will be less than what you set it at due to a high manifold vacuum- this is fine.
