Default what would be better???

hey guys what would be better for my car? I was thinking of a ATI procharger d1 or a stroker possibly even a bigger bore than that. I know I can only do 1 or the other without standing a chance of blowing my engine easy but what would be best? I plan on running superram no matter what I do so would it perform better with the stroker or supercharger?? and guys before you say nitrous or turbo I dont have the money for a turbo and dont want nitrous!

My opinion buy blower now and when you get money build a stroker meant for a blower for even more power ( lower comp.). If you build motor now if you don't make it high compression, since you don't have blower yet, you won't make as much power and if it is high comp. you wont be able to use much boost later. Or just make one mean stroker motor. Guy here in Houston has a very high comp. 421 making 600hp. And he sprays it with 600hp N2O. He has a speed shop with a dyno. Mean car.

The stroker would probably cost roughly the same amount as the SC.

Build the stroker first, with forged internals and the right compression ratio. Then add on everything else you want, one piece at a time.

With a SR and 219 cam, Lingenfelter gets about 440hp at the crank out of his 383s.

Are you talking about what power output youll get from putting your TPI back on top of the 383, or what you can expect at the end?

The SR, new, will be $800 (plenum/runners) and $460 (base), then the 219 costs about $300-something. You can have your stock heads ported and larger valves installed for about $1500.

The 383 bottom end will cost about the same as the SC itself.

Now, installing it will cost alot more, it all depends on the local builders in your area.

Not to mention that you're definitely going to wanna ditch that superram if you ever do decide to go with a supercharger. Miniram is best for f/i.
