Does the blower really affect the MPG.
I was told and read that turbos and super chargers only affect hte MPG if you floor the gaz pedal... if your cruising I was told it doesn't change that much.
Thats why the invented turbos on 4 cyl instead of 8 cyl, to keep the same low gas millage but have extra power when needed.
Any one else know the difference between an LT1 and L98 or stock L98 MPG?
Thanks for any reply
Ps: I wish I had a turbo or super charger on my car.... :(
I know what you mean... but I have no money, I just moved out with my g/f, I had to install a new convertible top, new front disks, new differential ago, new this, new that, I wish I could put a new intake and headers, and new cam..... story of my life :nopity
I was just wondering what was the average out there

How are you guys getting that high. I get like 18 in the city and maybe 23 on the highway.
:withstupid: that's usually what mine are too, maybe up to 25 on the highway, and between 15 and 18 in the city, my average is usually between 18 and 20 somewhere, i reset everytime i refuel

I've got a 96 LT1 auto with the 3.07 rear, I've had the car about six weeks and I've yet to get over 15mph in town (of course, I've been a bit on the aggressive side, acceleration-wise). I don't do much highway driving but I took a trip down to Key West a while ago and doing a little extrapolating, I estimate low 20s for the highway portion. If I remember correctly, my 88 auto with the 2.59 rear got about 17/28 mpg....
You're right. That is my average. I don't reset with every refuel, but I used to. If you get a calculator and divide your miles by the number of gallons you used, that's your true MPG (duh). For me, it's been 17.9 consistently. If I don't reset the average MPG, it will etch closer and closer to 17.9. If you do reset it every time, it will be off. That would be like guesstimating a baseball player's lifetime batting average over 2 or 3 seasons, when in fact he's played longer and it would be more accurate to just let it ride...
So I had an A in statistics class in college, what are you looking at? :hat
