My power headlights are out so I disconnected the motors and just use the fogs. Is there a high intensity bulb I could use in the fog sockets that would give adequate /legal nighttime illumination until I can get the thing scheduled for repair? I see a lot of the little imports buzzing around with these real small blueish bulbs.
The stock headlights on my 89 were really bad and I had difficulty seeing at night. I am sure they are original as my vette has low miles. I replaced the sealed beams with Sylvania Silverstars and could not believe the difference in illumination! They cost about $26 each from Auto Zone, Advance Auto, etc. Try them....you may like them!
Do a search on headlights. There is lots of info on repairing them. The 88 and later have some fairly minor and low cost fixes that are well documented on the forum.
When I did the wattage upgrade I had to change the taillights fuse (in the right side fuse panel) from a 10 to 15 amps. The 10 amp fuse blew after about 2 minutes. The difference is quite outstanding...!
