My question is, which do you prefer, and for what reasons?

the HOLLEY STEALTH RAM FLOWS at 275cfm out of the box, can easily reach 300cfm with minor port work the stock TPI has a hard time flowing 230cfm even with minor port work, look here
most of this info is right off the accel, holley, edelbrock, and TPIS sites, add a little math and the results become much clearer!!!

Runner lengths
Stock tpi manifold 8” runners 11.25”, cylinder head 6” total 25.25”
Accel super ram manifold 8” runners 7” cylinder head 6” total 21”
Holley stealth ram manifold 6.26” ” cylinder head 6” total 12.26”
Edelbrock performer RPM runners 6” ” cylinder head 6” total 12”
Edelbrock vic jr , runner length 5.5” ” ” cylinder head 6” total 11.5”
Now play with the figure in the calculators below, what youll find is that the if your using a 350 size engine as a guide
the tpi runner length is ideal for peak tq 3427rpm and 2700-4000rpm for peak hp
the super ram is ideal for peak tq at 4032rpm and 3300rpm-4800rpm for peak hp
holleys stealth ram runner length is ideal at 4700 for peak tq and 5618rpm to 6282rpm for peak hp
the SUPER RAM IS A GOOD INTAKE BUT ITS A TOTAL P.I.T.A. to install
the STEALTH RAM requires a custom plenum but is far easier to install, it flows far better out of the box, and is designed for a slightly higher average rpm range

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Personally I wouldn't want to be shifting a miniram or stealthram car with stock internals, but thats just me.
Interesting Post, my only major comments, is the Superram can make its peak up to 6000 rpm on a 350.... (My 383 makes its peak at about 5700 rpm with the 219 cam retarded 2 degrees)
Wait a few days and I'll be doing a test between these two intake systems. I have an auto with a 383, 3000 rpm converter, 3.45 gears. This is pretty aggressive to many and the Stealthram should work great with this set-up. The cam I have is the 74219 with .560/.560 lift with 1.6's, which I have, and the duration is effectively raised to 220 with the 1.6's. This cam is very similar to the GM Hotcam which spins to around 6500 rpm with the LT-1 and LT-4 crowd, thus I think I have enough cam for this intake up to 6200 or so. My heads are ported aftermarket iron heads that flow in the neighborhood of 250 cfm at .550 to .600 lift, thus they should be adequate for the test.
If the Stealthram out performs my Superram, I will buy one. If the Stealthram requires more stall and/or converter than I currently have, then I think the Stealthram is beaten by the Superram for a Automatic transmission vehicle intended for the street.
I hope the Stealthram is up to the task !! I really want this to work.
cheers,
Beach Bum

I am really looking forward to the results of this test. Please post the results.
Good luck with it Beach.

Grumpy do you have a comparison of Dyno results on your engine or track ETs. Just thought it would be interesting to compare to Beach Bum's when he gets his.
PS: Cant wait Beach :lurk:
Grumpy, What kind of track #'s are you doing with that without Nitrous ?
All I care about with the Stealthram is track times....nothing else.
Guys,
My track test will be very subjective, however, in defense of the Stealthram, I'm not going to have a lot of time to dial it in... basically get it started and running, and if I feel confident it can run hard without breaking, I'll drive to the racetrack Saturday morning. The weather will be around 85-90 degrees at Carlsbad Saturday, track is at 300 feet elevation. I have a ET front tire that went flat, so will be running on the front fatties. My Superram set-up would have run a 11.72-11.78 @ 115.5 to 116.25 on a hook pass in this upcoming weather. I'll be looking for 11.6's or better out of the Stealthram.
The event is simply a test n tune on Saturday, thus the traction is always marginal at best. I usually hook the first and sometimes the 2nd pass, but never really get it hooked up after that. However, I just bought a brand spanking new set of ET streets, thus maybe will get an extra 1 or 2 hook passes I hope.
I'm guessing I will be loosing some 60 ft et with this intake, the question will be... will there be enough of a HP to get this back and then some going down the track..... but dunno, we will see.
cheers,
Beach Bum

If they're all within spittin' distance and you drive on the street........ the choice is a no-brainer :D
