I have a 94 Vette, I was just curious. If you have a preset boost level, why cant you just set your fueling requirements to the boost level with the installed injectors?
My answer is, it depends on your setup for forced induction.
I'm running a supercharged '94 with 42lb injectors and the FMU removed. I have tuned the fuel on a dyno and am getting ~ 12:1 a/f ratio at WOT. As long as you plan on driving either normally or WOT during racing this setup should be okay. In this case boost is consistent depending on RPM, you can program the computer via RPM tables. If the boost pressure will vary during driving and is unknown then a FMU would be better.
I.e. If you plan to run a turbo setup (were boost can differ with RPM) then I'd be weary of trying to program injectors with just the stock computer. In this case you'll need to run a boost sensitive FMU or change out to a computer than can support a newer 2-3 bar MAP sensor.
