I just got a 94 vette a few weeks ago. The day after I bought it the secondary cooling fan broke. I got it fixed and it has been running 200 or less for a couple weeks, but starting a couple of days ago, at slower speeds (driving on the back roads, say 25-35 mph) my engine runs at 225-235 degrees. Once I get back on the highway it drops down to 196-210. Is this okay? I called the Chevy dealer and a few other places, nobody could give me a straight answer. The dealer is so worthless for tech questions :( I just had my systems flushed also (radiator, etc.) Just wanted to know if 225-235 was too hot, and if I should get it checked/fixed, or if it was normal. Thanks!
The C4 is notorious for picking up debris between the condensor and the radiator which hinders air flow. Check that area first. If it still runs a little to warm for your liking change the stat to a 160 and maybe pick up a low temp fan switch.
Good luck
Your primary fan should come "on" at about 226....the secondary fan should come "on" at about 235..........was the primary fan working before you had the secondary fan repaired?

Are both fans coming on when they should ?
Cleaning ext of rad is surely a good idea.
Lower stat and lower aux fan switch would't hurt either.
Good Luck
