removing smog pump

Hey guys, just a thought but has anyone done this, and did you get a shorter belt, or put in a free running pulley just to match the stock belt. Are these available somewhere?

You put in a free running pulley, I think Breathless Performance have them, but I made my own after looking at the pictures on their website.

i have built my own, no serpentine belt to replace use existing belt! i have several for sale to forum members,,check out links in signature: :thumbs:

i have built my own, no serpentine belt to replace use existing belt! i have several for sale to forum members,,check out links in signature: :thumbs: if interested IM for details

So Vettek50,
You would'nt have come accross a similar replacement for the A/C now would you?
I am currently considering a fab job on this myself, but why re-invent the wheel so-to-speak?

no i thought i would keep the A/C...i think many would want to (keep)..however, on the 87 , thr are 2 main mounting points..the center of the A/C pully is about 9/16" c/l above and 3" from the right mounting point..a polished aluminium bracket with same size pulley could be fabbed to replace the A/C...may not be able to located same diameter pulley..so it would be a custom build..BUT COULD REPLACE BELT TO FIT......

the pic is showing the mounting points..of what could be the a/C replacemnet bracket...if too dark use your software to brighten up..sorry no diagrams available..wouldn't be soon...however you suggested building ....send me the plans when you have them ...???...

effort in build : rating 1- 9 ...mine is 0-1...:priceless...however, should you need one i would be happy to build ONE for u...thks ;)
