Default Yet another electric water pump question

Has anyone used the stock fan relay (88-96 style) to run the water pump? I have seen them in ecklers, part no. 309074, which includes the relay, the connector, and the water proof boots. My concern is if it is heavy enough for the pump. But if it was then it would make a neater install and in the event it failed changing it would be a true plug and play. Oh by the way its $16.99

Wow, thanks for the input. I've been hitting the junk yards looking for just that. All you need is a 30 amp relay. My Eckler's catalog is a C4 Speciality and I can't find that relay. What's the Catalog #, page and part #? I agree, it would make a better looking set up, uniform, if you know what I mean.

Disregard, I found it. I'm going to order today. I think it will be okay as the cooling fans are fairly high draw items. Besides, I think you can get higher amp relays that will fit. I'll be the test guy.

And another good thing would be if the relay did die, you could switch it with a fan relay to limp home.

I burned up two such relays. Finally I decided to go with a Bosch 40amp. The harness and relay are only about $10. The relay is only $2-$3 so I keep a spare in storage box.

Shipping is another $6-$7.
