Default Air condition problem

After we charged the AC today the compressor didn't come on. it came on before we charged unit but didn't blow cold. threw a tester on the connections and no power, checked the fuse and thats good...the book says the next step would be check the ac clutch relay, but we can't seem to find it, does anyone know where it is?

Disconnect the battery to reset it. That should get it going again.

Doesn't disconnecting the battery start a chain of other problems???

No - it simply clears the memory of the controller and ECM. A learning process will take place once you restart it, but if the engine is in a good state of tune, you'll barely notice it. Oh, you will lose you radio station presets.

I have juice at the fuse, the next connection is the AC clutch relay, (thats what i can't find) then to the high & low pressure selinoids. (no juice) we drained & vacumed the system, then recharged it and thats when the problem started.....

Pressure switch (thermistor) sends a signal to the dash control indicating low charge and assemby de-energizes the relay until power is removed and the assembly is reset. It should be flashing the low charge code. Did you try disconnecting the battery?

Ok here's an update: we worked on it again today, disconnected the battery, the comp kicked on a couple of times then no power, tried it several times the same thing...We have equal pressure on high and low side and the guage is going up to 300 psi thats what the high pressure switch is sending to the ecm....we came to the conclusion that we have a blockage at the screen or the compressor is bad...tomorrow is another day....

Agree, something is blocked up somewhere. Static should be about 50psi.
