had a performance problem, wouldnt go very fast, seemd it was taking to long to shift, could only get up to 127, replaced all three cats, my muffler guy said one had emptied into another voila! problem solved! it is awesome now! neck snapping shifting and acceleration in every gear. thank you to all who answered my previous query, i appreciate it and corvettes rule! :thumbs: :steering: :auto:
Suggest you replace the O2 sensor and check the ecm with a scanner. Rich mixture can further cause failure of the cats. 89 ecm can be problematic. Buy only an GM replacement ecm - fairly cheap if you buy it from Superior Chevy.
