I got Dunlop SP8000's for a good dry-weather tire at a pretty reasonable price... the only place I could find them in the size I needed was at Discount Tire.

Agreed on the SP8000's, which is what I have on my car now. Tire Rack might still have them...but not sure about that. I don't think the Dunlop SP9000's are that expensive either, and they look great and perform well too! I know those are available through Tire Rack...and I think that's what I'm going to go with next time.
Just finished mounting a set from TR. The price was $87 ea + S&H.
The tires were almost perfectly balanced...My OEM wheels are not.
I also bought 6 truck tires for my RV. When I went to my local tire store ("Dunn Tire") and asked for 8-ply rating light truck tires, I got "Huh???"... :crazy:
