installing 94 front brake pads, should it be that difficult?
a) I am weak
b) I don't know the trick
c) the pad caliper locating springs (spiders?) are slightly too big
d) the caliper holes for (c) are too small, or buggered up.
I cannot get the outer pad to slip all the way into the caliper.
I have about 1 to 2 mm left to go. It appears that the little
springs were scraping away a little bit of aluminum because
it is so tight. I got the pass. outer pad in, after using heroic
strength, and a block of wood, but the drivers side just won't
budge anymore. I'm tempted to pop it out again and slightly
grind/sand the caliper holes, to allow it a little more clearance
to pop it in.
I don't see how some people swap brake pads at the track.
Its already taken me an 2+ hours per side. Is there a magic tool?
Ken, the weak.
That will help.
if all else fails, channel locks will help you push them in.
Oh, I did mine last month in about 40 minutes. it took longer to lift the corner up.

Ya know, that may be the one tool I do not have - channel locks.
Did you use them on the friction surface? I was worried about
scarring the surface of the pads. I suppose I could put a little
piece of sheet metal to protect the friction surface.
