im getting my engine re-built soon and i was wondering if its worth putting a tpi system on instead of the cfi.. what would i have to change? cpu, etc... and how much could i pick one up for roughly?
plus i can get the guy to put another cam in and i was told that the stock cpu wont allow the cam to run at its maximum capabilities, is this true?
Vette Connection in Seaford (03 9773 5644 ) want A$1550 for a 85 TPI with no wiring or computer or $2150 for an 89 setup with every thing.
Pay up to US $500.00 on ebay but then you need to import it and pay freight and duty.
Here in Aust is probably more cost effecive to put a carb on.
if you arent gonna mod it further just keep the X-fire. It is not as bad as people make it out to be. Its not worth the cash to upgrade to stock TPI set up. I have owned both trust me. A good running X-fire is a fine engine.

:iagree: go with carb and edelbrock manifold.. install one wicked cam and your away..if worried about cost. this setup could deveolped some serious H/P..good luck!
