So tell me your thoughts. Say a LT1 was jump started and the fellow who hooked up the cables to the other vehicle had reversed them (positive cable to the neg post, ect.) And to add to the question the fact that the igniton was left on. Where would the damage start, where would it end (if any).

If he had both ends of the same colored cable hooked up to the terminal you shouldn't have a problem. (i.e. the red cable hooked up to both negative terminals)
You should have seen sparks flying as he touched the cables to the battery if he left the ignition on.
Now, if he hooked up the neg. terminal to the positive I really couldnt say what would happen but i know it wouldn't be good and you ought to kick his butt for it.
