Default Headlight motor Question

Other than not working at all, what are the signs of a headlight motor on the way out? My passenger’s side motor continues to run for a few seconds after light has completely rotated to fully open or fully closed. Also the motor runs whenever I turn On or Off the parking lights, but the housing never actually moves?

I had this problem last year. I changed out the plastic bushings in each motor and cleaned each one thoroughly. For $10 worth of bushings and a couple of hours (I work slowly), my headlights now work fine. I think there is a tech tip on this subject....If you need more advice just let me know.

Good Luck!

i had the same problem and the bushing kit fixed me right up. unfortunately the previous owner was holding part of the mechanism in with wire so i had to get some used parts to make it perfect. i think about 2 hours the first time is about what it took me. that does include scratching my head a few times to figure what i was doing. there is a good tech write up on the lights. good luck
