Default datamaster help

hi guys,

i posted this over in scan and tune, but it seems pretty dead there...
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=633048

basically, the problem i am having is my car falls on its face if you try to launch normal, until about 2k rpms. Problem is worse hot, and does not exist in open loop. i drove my buddies '94 and it feels awesome compared to mine. According to datamater, my LTerm counts indicate a rich condition, and on my buddies car they indicate slightly lean. i have links to scans on both of our cars in the posting at the above link.

someone please help!! my car is frustrating me, and it is a pain to drive when low end power sucks, way to hard to launch, you have to ride the clutch too much to launch hard at all!!

thanks in advance!

Honestly for accurate tuning you really need to have it put on a wideband. I recently bought a lambdaboy WBO2 and it seems to be the best tool I have ever purchased. On my L98, datamaster was indicating that at WOT the blms were at 126-128....which I figured was damn close to ideal. Well, when I hooked up the meter I found that at WOT I was actually at 13.8:1.....lean....not rich like the blms suggested. I gave it 8% more fuel and went from 112mph to 113.78mph in the 1/4 with similar weather conditions. Now the A/F is closer to 13.0. The next time I visit the track I'll see if I can gain any ET/MPH with an A/F of 12.7.

how much for the lambdaboy? might be a good tool to buy...

my car is mostly stock, so i would think that factory fuel pressure, etc, should be ok...what i need to do before i try to upgrade is to get it running right...i am fishing for ideas to accomplish this...anyone have any other ideas?

I gave 600 for my 5 wire meter with laptop option.

Do you see any knock activity right after 100% throttle? What engine temp do you notice the lag? I had a similar coolant temp vs power enrichment problem awhile ago. The fuel curve was decent when the engine temp was under 180.....but once it got warm it would pull loads of timing (really killing power) What condition would you suppose your precats are in? How about your plugs, wires, ect. I would first check on general maintance stuff. I'm assuming that your car is mostly stock, therefor the stock tune should be in line. BTW, I couldn't open any of your datamaster links....I'm monstly interested in the "hot.uni"

i don't see any knock, and high rpm power seems good. i have done all the usual tuneup items, mostly in the ignition, new coil, wires, opti, and plugs with no effect. i made a zip file of the uni files, for some reason IE won't let you download a uni file.

thanks for the help!
