Its really not worth the time and aggrevation/added cost to have retuned.
You can go a long way with the MAF system. Actually no-one knows how far you can take it.
The looks aren't really gonna change. Since you still need the tubing running to the front of the car to get the cooler air, all your really eliminating is the MAF.
Doesn't see justifiable by my thinking. If you want to run one of those cone filters on the TB, then your performance will most likely deminish as a result of hot engine compartment air.
To date the only reason I can see someone switching is if the MAF sensor goes out, the SD system is cheaper....but after all the foolin around, I still think it would be easier to just buy a new MAF meter.
It does have it's advantages. easier to understand in tuning, but once you understand the MAF it's just the same relative. I coverted to the SD system becuase I wanted the freedom to move my intake where I wanted it without having to mess with the MAF all the time. I have scince tried to tune the MAF system and found it to not tune as well. Meaning I input the info I need to get the car to run well, but it doesn't "always" seem to like it. Same info but the car will not run well sometimes then others it will on the same chip. I also have problems with my torque convertor locking sometimes when using the MAF system which is odd because it's the factor system. I've been able to get the car running better/ faster thus far with the SD system then the MAF system. However the MAF system once done right can provide the same results as the sd system I feel. the following is just what I have found personaly
