If you read the post, you will see I didn't say the problem was with holleys part. I will reiterate my point(s).

If there is a problem with the plenum designed by grumpyvette, as you reapetedly state, I am sure jesse will find it. I am willing to spend my money for my benefit, and the benefit of others on the forum, to find out if this product works. If grumpvette stands behind his product he should have no problem sending the parts above I requested to Jesse.

You do realize you still havent stated what the problem with the 3rd party plenum is, dont you? You just keep saying it's "flawed", fine. Now, "how" is it flawed? "Why" is it flawed? "What" are the negative impacts of the flaw?

I dont think we are being unreasonable by asking you to support your claims with facts. Much like how you asked Grumpy to support his claims of his product with facts.
Why don't you ask Grumpy to support his claim that his works.

I showed a picure of a working unit that was made years ago. A lot of effort was put into that part and I am not willing to give out free information. If you want one, get it. If you don't believe me, thats fine I don't care. I have a strong doubt that many that are posting replys here will ever buy this or any other manifold.

I will give a open inventation to anyone that purchased one before this thread started and finds a problem I will help fix it at no charge other than my out of pocket expences.

It is very possible that he may be trying to prepare a manifold himself (and not affililated with anyone else) so he may not be likely to state the exact reasons.

I myself have been weary of the C4 plenums also. Maybe I just haven't kept up to date on things, but I haven't seen any real solid facts from any camp yet on anything. Its been more like "It fits, took me this long to make it, buy it since it works."

As was stated a lot of people here (heck even me) are easily persuaded and fictional-facts do run wild and become gossip by word of mouth. I try to keep my opinions limited to things I have experience with, so when I see some people support stuff that themselves or nobody else have even touched its hard to be swayed one way or the other.

I completely agree. I havent seen anything from Grumpy that will make me run out and spend money either. I would like to see the reasoning behind the claims Blown Vette has made though. I believe it is possible to explain these without giving out too much information.

Personally I'd like to see more of the single plane EFI setup jburnett has.

This is my manifold. I was able to build it for less than $300.00 including the manifold.
EDIT: This picture is for the request for more single plane EFI setup's. It has nothing to do with the plenum discussion.

I believe it is possible to explain these without giving out too much information.
Thanks to both of you for intelligent replies. I have no interest in selling any manifolds now or in the future. Back to my original post in this thread I just wanted to voice my opinion on a better choice of boxes.
Please respect the fact that I will not give out information in any way shape or form that will benefit someone that I believe is misrepresenting a product. I hope you can respect my wishes.

I never said that the problem was with Holly’s part, that one has been tested. The untested part is the problem. Look at my post with the converted manifold and you will see that this was done before, long before. Honestly I could care less if anyone buys this guys box or not. I know what my experience was and gave an honest recommendation. I am not here to fix a problem on a product that someone else is trying to profit.

Auto, 3.07 Rear, Dynomax UltraFlows, !Frisbee, Air Pump Eliminator kit, Gutted MAF, Tb Bypass, No Precats,
Lowered 1¾", 180° stat, '93 Chrome Emblems, Cut Air Lid & K&N, Kenwood MP3 CD Player, Sylvania Silverstars

With this list of mods you and the other 20 year old should jump on the black box. Try it and then come back and let me know how I don’t know anything.
I wasn't implying that you don't know anything but that it seems that if you are really out to "help" or "warn" people about the black box and are not trying to sell something of your own then you would have no problem revealing why the black box is flawed. I have no interest in either your manifold or the black box.

I belive you can look at the plenum Blownvette has and Grumpys and see that it appears that BV is pointing to an air distribution or flow issue.

I could be wrong but BV's intake looks to fill the manifold with forced volume and direct flow and the Stealth appears to fill the Black Box and use it as a reservoir for the plenum.

If the air is forced into the intake with less turns or radii then this would be better I am assuming than the Stealth box and filling the volume of the box.

Based on the two pictutes, the air that WOULD fill the Stealth box would already be in the intake based on what I see. But BV does have forced inductuction, I think.

Just guessing, but I wonder about the effect of the back pressure or Reverberation on the MAF sensor and if that would that cause issues in the ECM.

OK I'll shut up now.

I have no interest in either your manifold or the black box.
Then why do you care?

Reread the above posts and you will see that your question has been answered and that I am not selling anything.

:bs You have still yet to give any reasoning behind your statement that the box is flawed other than "It just is"

Well I just quickly read through the post and have to say....that I take neither side.

More testing is needed to be done on the HSR, at least on here (corvette forum). While I read tons of articles, I seldom base my opinions souly on them, as many of the mags have hidden agendas.

When I see setups on here that work and several people are having sucess, then I listen up and take notes.

We were on the brink of having a nice test with Beach, testing the HSR, but due to the dart heads, the test was botched. Too bad for all of us, but an A for beaches efforts.

I am in the near future going to be pulling my SR off and testing a single plane like this:

I have another post if anyone want to comment on it. Anyways, if I can get a HSR at around the same time, I can also test it. I plan on not only giving my opinions on the Track performance, but also tunability, driveability, idle, installation etc.

You will not only get one opinion, mine, but also Corky's as we are going to slap the single plane on his setup too. And the HSR if someone is willing to supply it.

At the end of the day, I think we will come out of these tests with a very good idea how the SP intake works and hopefully a HSR, if supplied. I have no agenda except getting the most out of my setup.

So the proper people just need to get in touch with me and let me know if your interested. Enough said. :lurk:

red L98, look what you started

This has all the potential to end up being a thread for the ages in terms of C4 intakes if only Blown Vette and grumpyvette would set aside their personal issues and become contributors. Beach gave it the old College Try, and now it seems Jesse and Cork are willing to invest a substantial amount of time and effort to provide us with some real world info....... stuff we can substantiate .

Lets put aside our agendas and form a co-operative for the common good for Heaven's sake! When was the last time we were on the verge of this kind of groundbreaking stuff? I for one, am getting a little tired of the radiator cleaning/power seat track thingy posts and would like some meat on my plate in this section. C'mon guys, we're sooooo close here
