Rear bearing
Replacing my rear brakes hoping to eliminate the little knocking sound on the right rear. The pads are shot, if by chance the brakes are not the source of the knocking I'm thinking maybe the bearings. Does anyone know how hard is it to replace the rears? :( 1994 C4

It's not technically challenging. Pretty straightforward. But it will most likely be a huge PITA. The Torx bolts that hold the bearing hub in place can be tricky to get to but the real problem is that they feel like they are welded on. I had to wrestle with one of them literally all day long. I had hit them all with liquid wrench the night before, in the morning, and all day while trying to get them off. Other than that it was a piece of cake.

More often than not in MHO and my recent personal experience, it is the U joints that are bad, not the bearing
GM had a lot of problems with the seals on the U Joints
