anybody ever convert there power windows to the new style auto downs? Is there a kit availible and by who? or wired it yourself and what do you need? I have a 1987 coupe - Thanks
As a member of the NCM, Jerry Watts published a tech tip on how to do this. I'll take a look for it and post it for you. You may want to send me an email to remind me since I'm busy and tend to forget.
Or if you are a member of the NCM, the tech tip appeared sometime last year in the monthly magazine.
So if I understand the features of the DEI-53T window control module -
1) Individual control of Drivers and Passengers Window via factory switch (auto up and auto down). YES
2) Allows (optional) remote control unit to control both windows simultaneously - auto up or auto down. YES
Thanks for the info...
It should work for older vettes too. The wiring might be different and the procedure to remove the door panels too. There are dip switches on the unit. One of them controls the 'rest at 12V' verses 'rest at neutral'. So it would work for just about anything out there. I just don't have all the wiring diagrams for all the years.
BTW - set the dip switches at the highest resistance settings. The GM motors are pretty inefficient and need a lot of juice.
