What do you expect from a guy from the Soviet Republic of California?

He's proabably a hippie vet owner--lol

 :cuss

I once read it creates more pollution to manufacture a cat than it removes in its life.

Dunno if it's true though

I didn't know so many juveniles owned Corvettes. Guess I'm going to have to step up.

Do you really think if you take off your smog stuff you'll have a 400HP vette. GROW UP!!! You can have speed and power without contributing to the poor health of YOUR kids.

All you clowns just WISHED you lived in CA. Best cars, best women, best weather. Tell me all about it during the next snow storm from your backwards, poluting state.

Squish-squish. Me hear sour grapes!

I will take the donation of a front Y with good precats. Mine are starting to rattle. Must be that 400 ft. lbs of clean-air torque.

BIG JIM

Hehehe... BIG JIM, I wouldn't brag about the whole Kalifornia thing you'll be forvced to replace that L98 with a solar panel soon if the CaLiberals have their way.. Explain your whole pollution deal to the millions of schmucks who sit in traffic for over and hour each day DRIVING to work in Kali. I guess Mass Transit doesn't sit well with the Kool Kali image. 2,238,485 cars idling on hot LA highways. How much pollution?

And wouldn't you be pissed if you had to sit in traffic behind me. Your eyes would be burning, the CO, NOx and HC would fog-up your windshield and you might pass out from lack of 02!

What's this about non-polluting ZO6's? Yeah, they put out the same pollution as a station wagon at 20% throttle and at idle.... What kind of Z06 stays at 20% throttle? A prize car from The Price is Right won by an 80 year old lady?

I'm above 20% throttle when I'm decelerating.... :smash:

Yes I certainly want to pay $3.00/gal of premium fuel, live in a 2k sq ft house and pay $500k for it, and where if you make less than $100k/yr youre poor. Yea I really want to live there. Oh there are no snow storms in FL, and no smog where I live either.

BTW my car has no catalysts either ;) and I make a whole lot more power than a Z06.

Why are you removing it?

Is the air too clean for you? Think of your children or the rest of us. The Z06 makes 405HP and conforms to all clean air standards. No smog stuff doesn't mean more horsepower necessarily. Or are you just too cheap to keep your vette running the way it's suppose to?

Another sorry poluter.

BIG JIM

OK BIG Jim...Sorry to say this on the forum, but with all due respect;

YOU'RE AN IDIOT!

Anti-polution 'poopie' (I'll save the forum from automatically changing my real word) uses MORE fuel to run it; therefore...SURPRISE! : More fuel=MORE POLUTION!!!

Go see what you can find about NEW WORLD ORDER...

CAT convertors I have it from a VERY good source, last only about
40 000kms then they're useless. Do a chemical analysis between 'regular' fuel and 'unleaded (or lead free) fuel. How do your kids like breathing polymers etc?

Instead of targeting me for a question I asked about a SWITCH; target the world governments who KNOW there IS a cure for cancer AND the 3 types of alcohol that cause it;

Butyl, wood, and isopropyl.

GUESS what the recycled containers YOU drink out of are washed in during their manufacture? (SEE ABOVE) AND they don't rinse them after...

Go back to your booze mate, and when you're sober in 2008 look into what
I've said here.

My sincerest appologies to other users, but one must wonder WHY this fella even DRIVES a V8 and not a tiny *** box that only uses a cup of fuel per year!

:U :spam :mad :nopity :cuss

Yup. The cars are beautiful, the women are beautiful, and the weather is great. My only beef with CA is the bass-ackwards people like you that populate it.

Oh, BTW... Jim.... It snows in California!

Lets see....Big Jim's pre cats are rattling around and he hasn't got them fixed yet. Sounds like a 'the pot calling the kettle black' those precats are supposed to help when the engine is cold to heat the gasses up quicker. Guess he hasn't driven his car since they started rattling since I know he wouldn't want to pollute the air unnecessarily.

As for me, I cut the pre cats out, chopped the mufflers off and drive my 89 like I stole it. Maybe Big Jim should boycot/picket NASCAR, NHRA, off shore boat racing, moto cross, Baja desert racing, etc. Then again it he really cared he should buy one of those hybrid cars from Toyota and get rid of his vette.

Bah humbug.

Scorp508 TOLD us what it is.

BTW... If my C4 made 405 HP, I wouldn't bother to remove any of the engine chocking/coking smog stuff.

Hey Big J.... park that gas guzzler SUV, get off the bottle and join the REAL world....
The only thing CA. has more than any other state is debt, crime, problems, prices and government interference in the lives of private citizens.

What???? do you mean, I CAN'T grill my chicken on Tuesday????
That's CA. for ya.
Heck, I can grill out 7 days a week in Georgia.

Bet you just can't wait until they tell you which day you can BATHE on, can ya?

That is the Time Thermo Switch that controls your Cold Start Injector. If you no longer have a CSI hooked up you can leave it unplugged.
:iagree:

Yeah...I'm a little past the whole plug thing that I originally posted as well...I ended up gluing it in (I broke it whilst taking out the anti-pollution crap and thinking about Big J's ordeal of living in CA as opposed to my living so close to the Gold Coast which ALSO has beautiful this that and the other BUT without anywhere near as much pollution)...I made sure I used glue that had the most noxious ingredients too! And AGAIN I listened to Dennis Leary's famous song whilst doing so!

Wow, with all the posts I can't beleive I missed this one. What about codes guys. Do you get problems with removing all the electrical connectors? I already have straight pipes to mide side pipes, thought I might as well yank some of the junk off while I have the engine out. Nothing like 2 million wires and hoses to ruin a perfectly good engine bay. Mostly, I want to get rid of that stupid AIR system, the hoses really make getting to the engine a pain in my rear.

Can't we all jsut get along.... :grouphug: heheheheheheh. Oh this is funny...I know the cure to pollution, tell the hippies to take a bath, with shampoo. You'll find the world is cleaner than you thought. But hey, I do my part, I ride a motorcycle to work instead of my car, of course that is because my engine is sitting on my garage floor, but hey...it still counts.
