Default Dr Gas X Pipe

Has anyone used a Dr Gas X Pipe on their C4 LT1 car? If so any pros and cons?

There are a number of us using it. A couple of years ago I put together a GP where 14 of us went in on it I think.

Unfortunately, I installed mine at the same time a number of other mods went on the car (heads/cam/long tubes/tb/msd/etc), so I can't say how it directly affected my car.

I can say that I love the way my car sounds now, and I'm pretty certain that it is breathing better with the x-pipe in place of the old B&B resonator.

How was the fit? Did it directly replace the resonator or did you have to add piping to it as well?

You have to give them the exact measurements of your resonator and they custom make the x-pipe.

They will need to know the size of the pipe (3", 2.75", 2.5", etc) overall length, distance between input pipes (inner to inner) and distance between output pipes (inner to inner). With the Tri-Flow, it's only like 1/4 - 1/2" (inner to inner) between the input and ouput pipes. The input pipes come from the headers and he ouput pipes lead to the mufflers.

I was one in on the GP :)

I replaced my resonator with it.

It raised the pitch of my exhaust sound, made an absolute diffrence in performance. You can feel it a little, but how I know it made a difference is when I was "playing" with my brothers mustang. It was even without it, I pulled him with it.

Some may say you will lose bottom end, I didn't notice any loss, but I also have 4.10's

I am a big fan of these. I believe nothing but good comes from using these. If you have a stock exhaust they are a big improvement over resonator. Custom exhausts with these IMO our even better due to scavenging effects and tuning of exhaust system in relation to torque. And they sound great.

I was one of the GP :) I am happy with mine. The X pipe will change the sound of the B&B exhaust system. TJWong, what type exhaust do you have??

I have a B&B but with a H pipe I made to replace the resonator. I didn't like the fact that their "new" design resonator necked down to what appears to be as small as 2.5" or perhaps 2.75" either way its necking down and I wanted to stay with a full 3" system.

I ordered a Dr Gas X pipe today. I sent him a cad drawing of the resonator with measurements to work from. He is going to build it next Tuesday and ship it that same day. It should be about 2 days to me as he is in the Salt Lake City area which is hop skip and a jump away from me. So by the following weekend I will install it and see how it runs. I may coat it as well before the installation. I just wish he could have made it in SS I even offered to supply the 304 tubing but his mandrel bender is not eqipped to bend SS yet.
