Default Fuel pressure question

I was reading the tech tips, and one of them was to pull the vacuum line going to the fuel pressure regulator, and that'll increase fuel pressure. Has anyone tried this? What are the benefits of increasing fuel pressure, won't the injector pulse width just shorten to compensate for it?

At part throttle, in closed loop mode, the ECM will compensate for excess fuel pressure to assure proper ari/fuel mixture.

At WOT, in open loop mode, the ECM ignores O2 sensor data and so increasing fuel pressure can be used to match increased air flow from certain mods.

As mentioned, don't remove the vacuum line...instead install an AFPR and adjust fuel flow for the best trap speed at Firebird.

You understand the issue exactly right. Good question. There have been a couple of posts on that tech tip and the general agreement was that it needed to be removed.
