I have a chance to score an LT4 intake for about 2 bills. This will actually be purely cosmetic. I want to powder coat my intake the same color red however I was quoted 3 bills to do this. Seemed a bit hight to me to. :skep: Anyway beyond any port matching(I have TPIS/AFR 190 heads) what do I need to do to install the LT4 intake? Do I absolutley have to use the later fuel rail? Will my 92 fuel rail physucally not fit? Appreciate any input,
Re: Installing an LT4 intake on a batch fire LT1 (Jeff M)
Intake will not work unless it is milled some to do so. Intake ports are higher on LT4 heads/intake system.
I just dropped off my spare LT1 intake at a powder coater here to have it done in translucent red for $100 total, so three hundred is way out there. $150 should be max unless you go for some really difficult two/three color combo or expensive color variation.
Fuel rail will not bolt up as bolt bosses aren't in the same spot.
$200 for an LT4 intake isn't a screaming deal, but about 10% below average for the most part.
