I've got a pair of 50 series delta flows on mine. The resonance they create has started to shake various pieces of the interior loose - I've got rattles like crazy after about 10k with them on. I'm going to a pair of Corsa's here soon.

Have a local exhaust shop built you a mandrel-bent rear Y and bolt up those FlowMasters.

I have a set on my '88 and love the exhaust note. Some passengers say they get a headache from it but they aren't "car guys"; I love the sound.

I have the Flows on my 86 & I love them. The resonance isn't that bad to me, but it all depends on your taste.

I'm sure I'm going to offend some folks, I don't mean to, its not personal at all. I consider myself as part of the "I Hate Flowmaster" club, kinda like the "I Hate Bose" club. I once was considering Flowmasters. I'm damn glad I trashed the idea. After seeing & listening to them, IMHO they are really cheap (yet overpriced for the value), they look horrible, very prone to rust, and sound downright annoying. Flowmasters are low class trailer park GARBAGE(again, I hope I don't offend anyone here). Please don't waste time or money putting them on your vette, they're better suited for Mustangs and trucks. This crap is sold at Pep Boys, that should be a big clue to start running - and fast! :lolg: One caveat: I haven't been exposed to the Force II stuff, I have a feeling that might be alot better, but I can't comment on that.

Flowmasters may not be your best choice if your car is a daily driver. Mine is not (a daily driver) and I have the Flowmasters on and absolutely love them. They sound awesome at idle and, to coin the phrase from Scorp508, sound like a banshee at WOT.

My first choice was the Magnaflows, but I turned them down because they didn't sound aggressive enough. They looked real nice though, but I compromised and went with the Flowmasters. My second choice was Dynomax....too quiet....best suited for daily drivers IMHO.

Are Flowmasters cheap?? I've never heard anyone acuse them of that before. I guess opinions will vary. The subject of which cat-back to use comes up more often per week than most other subjects. To each their own.

I have the 40 series flowmasters along with Long tube headers and the sound is awsome. It's what a vette is supposed to sound like. The resonance takes a while to get used to but the looks you get makes up for it. :yesnod:

I have the 3 chamber 50 series on my 88 - 383 with long tube headers and a high flow cat. I have NO res. problems. I think a lot of people confuse the 2 chamber 40 series with the 3 chamber. I have the 40 series in my MonteCarlo SS and they will rattle your teeth loose, set of car alarms, ect.
The 50 serirs in my Vette are allmost not loud enough. they are louder than stock, and screem at full throttle, where as the 40 series are loud period. all the time. The set for the vette with Y pipe, cat back was 450.$ installed all the way to the headers. the quality wasn't that bad, the tips lined up and looked ok, some people have problems lining the tips up, it just took a little work.
I would have rather got the magna flows stainless cat back, but it would have been to loud, cost was about the same, quality would have been better. Then of course their is the high priced corsa, borla, b&b, poweraffects, ect, Corsa is great for the Lt1/4 cars,
But with my budget I went with the flows, they sound great, and look much better than stock did.

The resonance irritates some people but I'm used to it.

Mine came with flowmasters already on it. The guy I bought it from said they are double chamber. They are very quiet. I don't think they're double chamber. I had a set of doubles on my 96 GMC pickup and they were WAY loud. I'm thinking that these are triples. They don't seem big enough to be triples, but it's just to calm to be double.

These ones have a mild tone at idle and cruise and sound low to medium at throttle. Some resonation - but not much.

Note: I still have the stock resonator.
