Look for a program called "Chase gear selector" I downloaded it from vette92, you plug in tire size and gear ratio and it shows you what you need to know.
MJ- can you email that program to me? Or if you don't mind, just tell me what my actual speed is based on 3.54 gears (86 auto) w/ 275/40/18's on rear and 17's on front? ie- If speedo says I am doing 70 MPH, isn't it something more like 65 MPH?
If my dash says 70 MPH now, I am right at 2k RPM's.
According to the this calc, when I plug in the ratios for the 4L60E and my rear tire size (OEM) It shows that rpms should be 1759 @ 75mph for a 2.59 rear, and 2085rpm @75 for 3.07 gears. Now, I have 2.59's according to my RPO sticker *but* my tach shows spot-on 2000rpm in OD locked-up @ 75mph!
Is there the ratio stamped on the outside of the differential within view? I need to check. Otherwise I guess I need to jack it and in neutral spin the rear tires and count drive shaft revolutions per tire revolution
